What's New with "Menagerie"?

OK, I promised updates. Well here is a huge one. No, the Menagerie reunion is not in the works. But I did recently receive a phone call from TJ Evans. Now there is this one little detail that can’t really go unmentioned. The rest of the world knows him as TJ Evans. But I occasionally slip in conversation and call him Greg. That being said, TJ is well and living in Florida. He just recently put a new band together after having left the Linda Nunez Band. The working name of the new band is “TJ Evans and Famous Last Words” Look for a new CD coming very soon. TJ did not yet have a release date for me but he will keep me in the loop. His record label Twisted Oak Records has a wonderful catalog of his work and samples to download. You should surf to www.twistedoakrecords.com and buy everything. You won’t be disappointed.

His work today is better than 25 years ago. He always claimed to be the baby in the group. I guess that the shape he is in today bears witness to that. His voice has gotten stronger and more disciplined. His guitar technique has become more sophisticated and refined. He has always been a gifted craftsman when writing songs. I still remember how challenging it could be to learn a new “Evans” tune. In particular listen to “Clouds” and “Be”. If you aren’t moved to add them to your collection, I have no explanation.
